Side Notes: This is one of the most well-known English carols from the early 1800’s. “Nowell” was a synonym for “Christmas” from the French word Noël, which in Latin means “day of birth”. Each of the songs in this book have been arranged to be able to be played as a piano solo. While most of the left-hand patterns are very simple, there are a few times where I’ve added in a larger stretch or jump for the left hand that might be difficult for small hands. If you are unable to make the reach or jump, feel free to drop the 3rd note in the arpeggio with the left hand until you can master the rest of the song
